Description and history of weather station.
The weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro 2 with additional solar and UV sensors.
The station was installed on 26th August 2006 and the solar sensors on 5th December 2007
The data in all links above originate from the same weather station.
The sensors in the weather station are Temperature, Humidity, Wind speed and direction, Rainfall, Solar Radiation, UV Radiation and Barometric pressure. All other measurements are calculated by either the weather station or the software as listed below.
Weather station software at above links:
- Davis Weatherlink v5.71 - updates every 5 to 15 minutes.
- Weather Display v10.37q - updates every 5 minutes.
- Weather Display Live v6.05 and is an extension of Weather Display on (2) and updates every 3 seconds.
Notes on current status of weather station and data
6/1/2007
Moved weather station software to dedicated computer - may be some glitches for a day or two!
31/12/2007
Weather station moved 20 metres and raised up to eliminate most of the interference from trees and buildings - particularly the anemometer
25/12/2007
- At this point there are no UV readings - there is a problem with the sensor.
- There has been first an intermittent then a permanent failure of the temperature sensor this year, causing temp readings of -67.8 degrees or -49 degrees (depending on the software). This has now been replaced but the database has still got hundreds of these incorrect readings in it and consequently the yearly minimums are incorrect. I will be deleting these readings when time permits.
